A blog about my daughter growing up and facing the joys and challenges of growing up with Down syndrome and Tetralogy of Fallot while enjoying the love of a rough older brother. (Look how purple her feet were before her heart repair.)

Homework time for Nathaniel is a fun time!
Tuesday night homework consists of finding rhyming words for Nathaniel's 10 spelling words. Inevitably there are 1 to 3 words that do not have a rhyme, such as "also," I mean what do you do for that!?? His last word on the list to rhyme was "close." We already had "nose- hose" and "rose - doze" so he was thinking really hard about this one. I tried to give him a clue and I asked him to think of what was on his foot. He said, "skin?" I said, "nope, what is on the tips of your feet?" He replied "Your toenails?" I said "close, what if you take the nails off?" (I was going for toes.) Nathaniel's mouth dropped open and he stared at me for a minute. "Ew, that is gross and it would hurt!!!"

That is hilarious. Kids are so funny, they look at things so simple, if only we could all be like that.
