Mourning at St. Mary's

Nathaniel's camera-Montana 164

This is St. Mary's lake in Glacier Nat'l park that we visited on the 2nd anniversary of the death of my mother in law. Last year on this day, Scott's stepfather spread her ashes in this lake. I love Scott and Penny so much and it was hard to see Scott in pain on this day.

BRING IT!!

As I said in an earlier post, Scott got Sing Star Vol. 2 for his birthday. It is really so much fun, but then I am a huge kareokee fan. He downloaded some additional songs to the "library" and we battled each other in Duran Duran's "Ordinary World" We were almost tied. I was so happy with how well I did!!! Then we did the Darkess, you know that song with all the falcetto "I believe in a thing called love. . . just listen to the rythm of my heart . . . " I am pretty sure we both did pretty aweful with this song, but Scott still beat me. We gave Penny a microphone and we were hoping that she was going to start singing but she was only interested in eating the microphone and licking it. We did hear a lot of heavy breathing! lol. She started dancing when Scott began to sing "Uptown Girl" by Billy Joel.

Only a short few months ago, Penny would refuse to walk more then 5 or so steps while one of us held her hands. Now, she will do laps around the house with her walker and/or one of us holding onto her. She has this huge grin on her face and she is just so happy to be up and around. I can't wait for her to be walking on her own. She is going to be 20 months soon.

Happy Birthday Scott!

Nathaniel, Penny and I took Scott to a Japanese steakhouse for dinner tonight for his 35th birthday. We had a wonderful time spending a quiet dinner together. The waiter brought a complimentary fried green tea ice cream sundae after I gave him a candle and asked him to bring the dessert to our table.

Penny ate an incredible amount of food for dinner. I had to wonder if my mother fed her today. lol First, I gave her a stage 3 Gerber food jar to hold her over while we waited for dinner to hit the table. If we are home we typically do not give her the baby food, but I grabbed it as we walked out the door. Then Scott's dinner of hibachi fillet and shrimp arrived. Penny literally ate 1/2 of Scott's steak and 3 shrimp. Not to mention her new favorite: the zuchinni sticks. She kept looking for more of them. I also personally fed her about a 1/4 cup of the hibachi rice, but I think Scott fed her some as well. She was signing "eat" so I then gave her some sauteed onions, she enjoyed the sweetness from the carmelization. After all that, she was screaming for more tastes of the green tea ice cream, so she had about 4 or 5 tastes of that. Then when we got home at 7:30 she had a full bottle of milk before I put her down for the night. Scott began to wonder if she has a tapeworm in there. I mean, where could she possibly put all this food? I have never seen anything like this before. Hopefully she won't eat us out of house and home!

And now that this day is almost done, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCOTT!!!!

I love my husband!

I almost. . .almost. . .forgot to post, and since I am so incredibly tired, I was kind of at a loss of things to write about. So, I decided I should write about how much I love Scott. He is an amazing man. He made dinner today since I was on my way back from a baptism that was in a different part of the state. He also did all the dishes and did 3 loads of laundry. I am so very lucky to have him. I leave for work at 6:30 in the morning, so he is also the man that gets the children ready in the morning, as well as himself. I realize this is no small feat and I appreciate his hard work. And I love being with him. Anyway, I know you never read this Scott, but if you are, I LOVE YOU!!!.
