Some Christmas PHotos

www.flickr.com

I know that I haven't done well in the department of photo sharing our Christmas story, but suffice it to say the kids had a great Christmas. Nathaniel was hard at work playing with his Lego sets, he was especially proud of Indiana Jones. Penny loved her baby that Santa brought and enjoyed her new bath toy!

Bulleted Recount

I have so many photos, video, and thoughts to post that it will take me 5 days to catch up on the 3 that I missed. Here is a quick re-cap to help organize for future posts.

December 24
- Last minute shopping at Best Buy, the package store, and the grocery store on my way home from work. Good think we were "dismissed" at 1pm so that I could get some things done.
- Scott, the kids, and I went to my mother's house for our typical Christmas Eve thing where we spent time with my mother, father, three brothers, sister-in-law, niece, and my uncle and his family. We opened lots of presents.
- Went home and prepared for Santa!!!!!! and went to bed.

December 25
- Opened presents with Scott and the Children. Nathaniel was very excited that Santa ate the cookies that he made and the milk glass was empty. Penny was interested in eating and throwing the wrapping paper and bows. I got a new coffee maker and a copy of Fallout 3 the video game.
- Scott's step-father came over (Scott's mother passed away last summer) as well as Scott's sister with her husband and one of his son's with his girlfriend and her 5 year old daughter. We opened more presents. We also played some Sing Star 2 on the PS3, it was hysterical watching everyone sing better than me. lol!! Nathaniel was excited because he got the one gift that he did not get from Santa, but had hoped to get.

December 26
-Took the day off of work. Good plan!
- Ventured back in to the world for an exchange on a gift from Santa to Best Buy. We also went out to lunch and made it in and out of Target alive.
- Scott and I went out to dinner sans children to his business Holiday party. I really had a good time getting dressed up (and makeup!!) for some nice grown up conversation and superb food at Apricots in Farmington. I was very impressed.

December 27
- We stayed home and relaxed all morning, then we went out to meet some friends for dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings in Windsor. The food was great and the babies were good babies. :)

December 28
- Scott's brother and his family from Virginia came over for a visit. More presents!! It was great to see them and their beautiful children, you will see some photos from this visit I promise! They all seem to be doing well.
- My parents came over for a quick visit to see what Santa brought the boy and to try out my coffee maker.
- One of my bestest friends came over for a late evening (8pm to 11 pm) visit since she was only in town for 2 days. She brought presents as well! I was so happy to spend some time with her.

Sheesh just writing all this really tires me. I hope everyone else enjoyed their Christmas as much as I did. It was wonderful to see so many people that I love.

Penelope with her brothers

One thing that I love about Wickham park is this ancient, retired sleigh that is outside of the Santa cabin. Great for photo ops. Here is Penelope with Nathaniel and her want to be brother, Tanner.

The Santa Visit.

This was the only half-way decent photo Scott got of the Children with Santa. I think I should have been in charge. hmmm. Anyway, the children had lots of fun and that is the point right?

Santa Claus is Coming to Town and other ramblings

I just love my little girl. She was so much fun tonight. She was laughing and pointing at things and yelling "DA" She ate her dinner with a fork, rigatoni with mock bololagnse sauce. I think she loved it! I just look in her beautiful eyes and I know she understands so much of what I have to say. When I came home from work, my babysitter asked me what a specific sign meant that Penny has been using. And she did what I know to be Penny's version of "more". This is when she puts her right index finger into her left palm, which is kind of curled. She was so impressed when I told her because Penny was using her sign appropriately to ask for more lunch!

We are going here on Saturday. I can't wait!

Oh, you should pop on by to Jessica's blog, she has a couple of wonderful stories for you.

Lastly, we had Nathaniel's conference today. It was not anywhere as bad as I was expecting. She did not imply at all that my son needs to be hung out by his toes. Even when he has recess taken away from him (which is everyday) she lets him run around for a few minutes to burn some energy. It sounds like his music teacher can't stand him, but she doesn't count, she only sees him once a week. We just need to work on our listening skills. . . .sigh, easier said then done, right?

Question

When do you usually put up your Christmas tree?

We just put ours up today. Penelope was fascinated by the tree when she woke up from her nap and realized it was there. Nathaniel was such a good boy helping us with all the decorations. He kept saying, "I love putting the uniforms up." "When can we put the uniforms up on the tree?" Intead of using the word ornaments. It is so funny when they are that age and they use the wrong words. lol.

I will have to get some pictures up soon.

Click here for pictures of last Christmas. Keep in mind that Penny had open heart surger 8 days previously on Dec. 17 to repair her Tetrology of Fallot defect.

What Movie Is Your Christmas Most Like?

Your Christmas is Most Like: A Charlie Brown Christmas

Each year, you really get into the spirit of Christmas.

Which is much more important to you than nifty presents.

Christmas Photos

Let me just get the christmas photos out of the way and then I promise going forward there will be new pictures. Of course the wrapping paper was much more interesting for Penny then the actual presents. She got 2 things from Santa. Nathaniel was pretty proud of his bounty.
